Everything that happened next seemed straight out of some story the clan storyteller would tell the children around the campfires in the forest to make them laugh. It would be just her luck that a templar would walk into the tavern in which she was accused of being a mage. If there was ever a time to need the protection of Mythal it was now. She wasn't aware that anyone had seen the look she gave her dwarven companion (what was his name? she was already telling people he had a greater chance with her than the drunk and she didn't even know his name...) besides him. When the templar stopped and spoke to the blonde dwarf it she closed her eyes briefly, muttering a silent prayer to female leader of the elven pantheon. Opening her eyes again she brought the mug back to her lips and tilted it back, chugging as much of it as she could in one go. If only the alcohol had done what she'd wished it would and sent her somewhere else. Anywhere else.
She was vaguely aware of the blonde dwarf talking and offering her and her companion aid. She caught his cloak move and expose the griffin chest on his shield and her mood perked up a bit. He wasn't just some dwarf trying to play hero, he was actually a hero and was the one person who could outrank this templar. This was turning more and more into a story afterall. In all the time she'd spent in this town, never had she seen a group of people like the ones she had seen today. She didn't know about her friend, but she was more than willing to let this Warden get her out of this situation. Setting her mug back down, she looked over at the dwarf at the bar beside her, not quite knowing how to adress this situation but knowing she needed to say something fast. If she paused too long it would seem like she was trying to think up a lie and if she answered too quickly it would seem like she was spouting the first thing that came to mind. Maker, she was never good at lying.
Trying to judge the proper moment to speak (and she still wasn't sure if this was it), so cleared her throat and smiled lightly at the templar. "It is just as the young dwarf says, ser," she started, nodding towards the blonde dwarf. "That man tried to use the earlier fray to his advantage and have his way with me. I managed to get away and now he's bitter about it," she said shrugging lightly, trying to believe in her words. She needed to do that to make her lie convincing, but she was having a difficult time doing that. She'd never been questioned about her magedom by a templar before and she wasn't ready for it now by far.
