Somehow, Æolyn managed to keep a calm facade as she sat next to the dwarf. She listened to the conversations going on around her in the tavern, trying to see if anyone could pin the magic on anyone. The last thing she wanted was a scene to be caused because of a harmless spell. No one had gotten injured, so what was the big deal? From the corner of her eye, she saw her companion turn as if he were going to speak to her, but stop just before he opened his mouth. From behind them, she heard another voice and it took a moment for her to realize he was speaking to them both. She turned in her seat to look at the owner of the voice, surprised to see that it was the blonde dwarf she'd passed earlier in the fight. She smiled at him softly, nodding her head in response to his question. There was no need for her to be not fine since she hadn't actually been in any part of the brawl, but it was nice of him to ask anyway.
Æolyn was always so bad at judging ages when it came to dwarfs, but she didn't expect the blonde one in front of her was much past 21 if that. He stammered through his next sentence, though she didn't know if it was because he was nervous or intimidated. He seemed to carry himself with a noble air, so one would think he wouldn't be nervous... but there was certainly no reason for him to be intimidated by her or even the other dwarf, least from what Lyn could tell. At that same moment, the drinks arrived and Lyn picked hers up, taking a sip while still looking at the boy. She felt his eyes flick from the dwarf beside her and she caught his gaze briefly. Ah, no he wasn't nervous because of who they were nor was he intimidated by either of them. She smiled at him lightly when she understood, encouraging him to continue with his words. A thank you. She didn't really see how one was necessary, for her at least. The most she'd done was stun a few men in the very early stages of the brawl and help her new friend out of what could have been a very bad situation... and she'd only done that by helping him to his feet to make it look like he hadn't set off the surge of mana. She still didn't know if he had, but she didn't really care. She just knew she wasn't the only mage in here.
Taking another drink from her mug, Lyn's brows furrowed in curiousity. Yes, she wanted to know what kind of favor he was talking about, but before she could add her question or hear his response, more shouting ensued from the middle of the room. Apparently, everyone was still in search of the mage that had caused the most recent stunt and her earlier actions were coming back to bite her in the ass. The drunk who had tried to force her out of the room was now standing a good ten feet off, pointing a grubby finger at her as he spat his accusations. "Her! She's the one who dun it! She stunned me right where I stood she did. Thought for a moment I'd been hit by sumfink, but it felt just like tha' last one did!" he said rather sloopily.
Lyn's eyes went wide when she realized she'd just been pinned as a mage and she set her mug down. Her first instinct was the deny this man's accusations and call him crazy, but she couldn't play it off too hard or else it'd look like she was trying to cover something up. Which she was. No, she had to play this one rather cool. Æolyn was never good at playing things cool. "Excuse me?! Just because I wouldn't let you take me upstairs and have your way with me I'm now a mage?!" she retorted, doing her best to sound terribly offended. She scoffed at the man, smirking at him and then nodding towards the dwarf beside her at the bar. "There's no need for you to go off your rocker because he's more likely to get that chance than you ever will." She couldn't believe she'd just said that, but she had. It'd been instinctual almost. To hide the shock in hers that she'd heard herself speak those words she hide her face in her mug, looking towards her companion. Her gaze begged to be saved. In that one glance she tried to convey that he was right, she was indeed a mage and she needed help.
