Yonca tried to keep her gaze ahead upon the road, but she couldn't help but glance back at Desi every now and then. His words were soft. She couldn't tell if his thoughts were simply gentle or if he was nervous about saying them to her. She thumbed at the journal in her lap absently, letting Desi talk. It almost seemed as if he was in a daze as he spoke, his focus elsewhere. When he returned his focus to reality with a grin and teasing joke, Yonca couldn't help but let a smile appear. She shrugged casually to his words, smiling at him, before looking back towards the road.
There was preparation they had to complete before the templar sauntered by. She hadn't expected to have this much time, and she hoped the templar hadn't rushed ahead. Yonca was fairly certain he hadn't. Nothing was as obvious as templar tracks in dirt. Even in the grass, the heavy boots and chainmail always swiped the uneven ground leading to a distinctive trail or marks that Yonca knew well. While the Imperial Highway was fairly well traveled, she did not think she saw any distinguishable templars tracks that were recent. She thought about how to go about telling Desi of her plan. She wondered if he might be against it, especially with this surprising pacifist attitude that he hinted at. But then again, Desi seemed to understand there was no way he was going to retrieve his phylactery on his own. They both knew that if Desi was to be successful, he would have to work with her... which meant that she was, in an odd way, in control. Yonca pondered for a second. It was different than when she had traveled with Papa and her Caretaker, but it was different and refreshing.
"Well, the first part," She began in her usual soft tone, "is that we will not be using any magic if we can avoid it. Magic will be our last resort." Her fingers continued to thumb the text at her lap as she spoke, "I am accustomed to being directly in the presence of a templar and we will use this to our advantage." Yonca brought her gaze up over the road as if imagining the plan play out in front of her, "I will distract the templar and all we have to hope is that he will take his helm off. Once the helm is off, and he is distracted," Yonca turned her attention to Desi so she made certain he was listening, "Then you will sneak up behind him as swiftly as possible with..." She paused looking around, she gave a small gesture towards a collection of sticks on the side, "A heavy stick or some other weapon... perhaps a rock, and you will knock him unconscious with it. After that, we will hurry the templar and his baggage away from the main road into the woods." Yonca kept a stoic expression as she gazed at Desi, "The most important part of this plan is that you knock him unconcious, if he stays aware... we will have to resort to methods that are much more messy and may still fail." She paused to let Desi respond with his thoughts.
