Yonca made the trip back the exact way they had traveled there. She eyed the footprints they had left in certain patches of dirt and grass, shuffling the previous prints out as she walked over them. As she did so, she made sure that both the previous print and the current one were unrecognizable as footprints. The walk was measured and slow. Yonca stayed quiet, allowing Desi to talk if he wished but bringing no form of conversation up herself.
When they neared the small house, Yonca noted that there was still candlelight in the windows. She turned to Desi, holding up a hand to motion for him to stop, “If you may wait here... I will beckon you as soon as I am sure it is approved by my host.” After the instruction, she headed towards the house making sure Desi didn’t follow her inside yet.
She stepped into the house, looking around the main area. The old woman was laying underneath the dining table. Loud snoring was coming from her. Cards were strewn about. Yonca sighed, walking over. She collected the cards swiftly, placing them in a stack on the table. Yonca stared at the sleeping woman, eyeing the rumpled commoner clothing and messy silver hair. At least she didn’t have to worry about convincing the woman that having a young man in for the night wasn’t odd. Turning away, she went back over to the door. Peeking outside, Yonca beckoned for Desi to come in.
Once he was inside, Yonca offered a small smile, “My room is down the hall.” She whispered, trying to keep her voice low enough so it wouldn’t awaken the slumbering woman. Yonca locked the door once the young man was inside the main area. She led the way to the room, bringing out the key to unlock it once they were there.
