Quintus eyed Ashya as she shot him a glare. He raised an eyebrow at the girl, glancing down at her hand before looking back up as if he had no idea what she was talking about. The man looked over his shoulder to gaze behind him before looking back at Ashya with a confused expression. He kept a serious expression, as he was also thinking about what Imenry had said. He reached out and lightly shook Ashya’s out-stretched hand with a smile, “Water sounds good.” He commented to Imenry’s suggestion, “Do you have any?”
As Ashya seemed to be interested in what they were taking about, he looked back to the fire. He thought over Imenry’s opinion on the matter. Quintus tried not to mull over the words ‘too hard to plan out’. It was such a terrible reason not to figure out thorough plans... that it was too hard. If everyone stopped doing things that were hard, then nothing at all would get done. Quintus kept his thoughts to himself for the moment, but it was clear in his expression that he was critical of what had been said. He stared at the fire in thought. After a moment, he shifted with a groan to a different seated position. With his knees bent, he placed his hands behind his hips, leaning his weight upon his palms.
“Communication on the field is difficult when none was made beforehand. It is best to practice together, figure out how best we actually work together before actually in battle... Especially because we all come from different backgrounds, we cannot assume everyone understands what another means upon the battlefield. Battle is not the time to figure things like that out, battle should be swift as possible and flow smoothly.” He paused, holding back a cough in his throat before continuing, “Teamwork before, after, and during is essential for success on the battlefield. The group should be spending more time in the evening practicing together, learning who to go to in a pinch and who to allow to run forward, instead of simply chatting around fires. As a group we have yet to practice any sort of formation beyond a walking order.” He brought a hand up, lightly scratching at his earlobe as he concluded his thoughts, “Charging into battle without anything prepared is too risky for the safety of the group as a whole, especially when we encounter a true darkspawn horde.” Quintus couldn’t help but look over at Imenry as he finished his thoughts. He gazed at her with an expression of thought, trying to make clear with his features that he took his words seriously but didn’t mean to seem too harsh about it.
