Humming along in agreement Lee nodded morosely. She had tried for ages to learn to heal with her magic before she had finally given up and accepted that it was a skill she would never quite grasp let alone master. She had moved on and made due with the talents she had, focused on what she could do instead of what she could not. It was funny, or perhaps more sad than anything else, that she was not able to apply that same logic to other areas of her life.
Shaking her head with a sigh she carefully observed the small hand hovering around his abused wrist. Frowning she turned away. She would have directed him to the healing ward but Constans had seemed resistant of treatment earlier. Perhaps it was the idea of being treated by her that repelled him but for now she would let the matter lie. She had done what she could for him and hoped that would be enough to help him along the road to recovery. If not, well, she could always attempt to drag him to the healing ward late if he showed no signs of improvement in the days to come.
Turning back slowly as Constans spoke she offered the boy an incredulous stare. Never skip anything? Of course not. In the middle of rolling her eyes at him she froze in place as his question rang out. She was half flattered while the rest of her was horrified. Constans wanted her to be his mentor… but why in all of Thedas would anyone want Lee to be their mentor? The idea was absurd, completely preposterous. She would make a terrible mentor. Absolutely terrible.
Taking in a deep breath she swallowed once before, shoulders slumping, she faced him. Tugging at one earlobe awkwardly she shook her head to indicate that, no, she could not be his mentor. Even if her age and rank had not prevented her from acting as such she was not entirely sure she would. Lee would probably doom him to some sort of awful fate if she took the poor boy under her wing. “I may be a Harrowed mage but I am no Enchanter and I am many years away from even being considered for promotion to the role. It is only the Enchanters who can act as mentors to the apprentices. But I can and will help you with anything I can, whether it is tutelage or advice, but in an official capacity I am not able to mentor anyone.”
