Choking down a bubble of laughter it was an amused face that carefully looked over the small form of the boy next to her. Many little kids indeed. “There certainly are a lot of them running underfoot but I suppose that makes sense. The Circle serves as a school after all. Still, the ratio was not always so child heavy in the past but most of the older members,” eyes grew dull and voice distant. Taking one shuddering breath she continued, “Most of them died a few years ago. Before that the adults outnumbered the children by quite the margin.”
A teasing light entered her eyes, one brow raised arrogantly overhead, followed by a smirk which proceeded to slide up the sides of her face. “And you don’t need to worry about babysitting, that is my job.” Turning teasing into answering she wrinkled her nose slightly, free hand swatting at the air. “Not full time though. I usually look after the very young children and only on rare occasions.”
Face going distant once more, this time from peace rather than pain, she carried on softly. “The Enchanters are the ones who do most of the teaching but I teach some things and am open to tutoring in more. Most of my lessons are a little under your level though since I presume you can read. My main area of instruction lies in the field of herbalism. I generally teach that one on one since most apprentices want to learn at some random hour based off of their mentors schedules but I try to hold a group lesson at least once a month if not more.”
Going cross-eyed for a moment, eyes focusing on a loose lock of hair, she paused long enough to blow the stray piece back and hastily tucked it away. “Group lessons are discussion based. Lectures, questions, theories, though sometimes it has been known to degenerate into random babble. You are welcome to come if you are interested. Sadly, I have found that not many are. I enjoy it though. It is like a different sort of magic.”
