Hearing someone come in, Constans glanced up and smiled when he saw it was just Lee returning. He sat up, about to say something in greeting as she turned around the nearest bunk and he could see her more clearly, but something strange happened to her expression and he only stared. The mage's eyes grew cold and angry and for a moment he was actually a little frightened he'd done something wrong, that the lady who'd been so nice to him just recently was about to punish him for some rule he didn't even know he'd broken.
She looked really upset, and he didn't understand at all. His eyes widened when her stare locked onto his face. What she asked didn't reassure him- now he knew he was going to get in trouble. The Templars had hated him, and now this mage he'd thought was so kind was going to hate him too, and punish him like they had.
He sat up defiantly, puffing out his little bare chest. "I got away from the Templars three times, so they tied me to the mule."
