Re: Break 3:: Denerim Market
Her eyes widened in shock and horror as the man lost his balance and hung for a moment from the roof. He looked as if he was about to tumble backwards when he let go of the roof with his foot and dropped heavily to the ground. Still, he did not land steadily on his feet, his hands pressed into the dust to break his fall.
Lillie moved closer, wanting to help him to his feet but he had regained himself by the time she made a move, still shocked from the fact that he'd fallen. Guilt slid over her features and she brushed at the dust now covering his clothing.
"I'm so sorry, Ordhan! I did not mean to startle you. Are you hurt?" She took his hands in her's, turning them over to examine his palms and see if he had any scrapes or bruises, her gaze trained down on his palm momentarily before she lifted her lashes to look up at him.
She smiled, slightly, unsurprised by his statement. After all, she had disappeared during the largest and most violent of battles in Denerim's history. If he had returned to the Pearl any time after the assault she would not have been there, and her death would be the easiest assumption.
"No, not quite dead," she replied, before realizing she still held onto his hands. Releasing them gently she cleared her throat. "I moved... to Rivain."
Her own hands felt sweaty then and she rubbed her palms against the grey blue cotton skirt of her dress. It was so strange to see him after so long, to remember him as the disheartened young man that he'd been. Back then she'd wanted so desperately to help him, but she never knew how. She had sometimes wondered what had become of him.
"It's good to see that you survived the battle, though." She smiled then, and it was genuine. Despite his less appealing qualities, there had always been something about Ordhan that Lillie had liked, some sort of potential she'd seen in him.
