Re: Alienage Back Entrance
Ordhan's eyelids drifted half-shut at the sound of Dolain's return. Though likely indistinguishable as such to the average observer, it was as annoyed an expression as he would allow himself. The prospect of working without Dolain seemed so inviting. Even so, he had to acknowledge that his familiarity with the city and perhaps his connections within it may come in useful--even if the command and choice was Ordhan's, he might not have dismissed him. None of these justifications made the drawn-out, smirking reply any less grating. Ordhan's glanced briefly at the elf. After weighing his words for a moment, Ordhan decided he was joking; surely Dolain was mockingly referring to his disobedience and desertion the night before. The chuckling made Ordhan more certain of this.
Not far away, the towering figure of Karashok began to make his way towards them. It was difficult to tell if the stony harshness of his expression was anything beyond his usual stern demeanor. But as he had not yet drawn near, Ordhan allowed his attention to remain on Falina. She seemed deep in thought, a quick mind working a face that could be mistaken for a child's.
His brows rose at her suggestion, more from surprise than skepticism. The knight paused before giving an answer, eyes darting automatically to the top of the gate nearby. "There is," he answered even as he calculated how to get there. The only rooftops he had dared walk over were in the Alienage, but surely the roofs of the sturdier buildings in the Market Square could bear at least as much weight. "I could reach it in a few minutes." As Ordhan listened to the rest of her plan, one side of his mouth began to curl upwards in a half-smile. This might actually work. The knight was a tactician on the field, not in the city, but he could see how this might come together, as outlandish as it was.
The qunari had arrived, meanwhile, and waited wordlessly as Falina spoke. By now he had been joined by Lalin and Faer. Before Ordhan could greet them, Lalin began to speak aside to Karashok, though not so quietly that she could not be heard. He watched, deep furrows of concern beginning to crease his brow. Apparently those left at the heart of the Alienage had not remained as idle as Ordhan left them. From what he could make out, the location of some of the slavers had been discovered, and a plan for meeting them had been devised. It was only the slightest of comforts that they had a backup plan in place should it be a trap. Ordhan wanted to interrupt, to ask for more details to satisfy his anxious curiosity, but Lalin had not been speaking to him. He was glad that he overheard, at least; having half the group disappear without explanation would be jarring to say the least.
His eyes flickered over those with him. The same would be true the other way around. "We have a plan for finding the slaver in the market," he said aloud towards the three, not directing his explanation to any of them in particular. "We should not be gone long, but ought to have a plan to meet again. Will there be a way to find you once you leave?"
