Re: Alienage Back Entrance
Falina regarded them all carefully and of everyone in the group, Davin was absolutely the most earnest. She nodded when he spoke, pleaded really, the dwarf was only reminded of the evening before when he also had thrown himself at the mercy of his companions. She softened, understanding Davin's desperate need to prove himself. "Davin..." Falina started, unsure if he'd even been speaking to her. She felt the need to reassure him again, so she risked the embarassment. "None of us are sure of the complexities. I- this is too big to cut capable people out. You promised that you're capable, and I trust you." Her lips twitched into an amused expression when he mentioned the brawl, but pulled herself together. "You don't need to ask permission... it's just- it's already well within your right, alright?"
Cormac's approach was familiar, she didn't even need to turn to confrim her suspicion after a month of his solid footfall. It was just him. His gruff voice invited no discussion- clipped, perhaps a touch militaristic, but well intentioned. She nodded, turning with an impish expression, "Of course you're coming..." She'd just been ready to slip away and grab him. "Not only are you enormous, but you're also really great at improvising. I'm going to really need you." She patted Shartan's head quickly in greeting. "I- there's a man in the market, apparently Lalin remembers him from- before... we're going to try and draw him out. Right now we aren't doing any good here. We might have some luck with this slaver if we can find him. If he's a slaver at all." She hoped it was enough of a summary for Cormac, honestly, she had very little by way of details herself.
Her attention caught by Dolain's dismissive tone towards Shartan, and she scoffed, tiny mouth parting in outrage. "That animal is named Shartan, and he's a Mabari Warhound. And he's brilliant. If he's not welcome, then here in the street is good enough for me." It might appear foolish to be so loyal to a dog, but Shartan had saved her life in the Frostbacks. He'd been a stalwart companion after her Joining, warmth nestled at her side when the nightmares plagued her. She owed him more than she owed a deserter. When he bounded away, Falina stood her ground, careful not to shout, but speaking loudly enough that he could hear. Chasing after him would just lead to wandering eyes. "Dolain, please stop- I- we can do it here just as easily. And this way, none of us have to invade your house."
She regarded the group carefully, making sure that no one seemed to be paying overt attention to what they were saying. The ambient noise of the Alienage was enough that it would cover most discussion, as long as it remained calm. "If he's in the market, then we'll need to spread out... I think there are enough of us to break up. North, east, south, west... I-" She furrowed her eyebrow, deep in thought. She wasn't as comfortable issuing mandates as the other Wardens. Her companions were all sound and could have insight she didn't, or plot something she'd never have considered otherwise. She had a leadership position, but she hadn't earned it yet. Dictating would lead her down a path she wasn't ready to follow. "If we spread out, we can see if anyone sticks out. If we make a commotion, we have a chance of seeing who's trying to get away. I- who's comfortable working with who? And ah- what- what can everyone do?"
"I can pick pockets... and I can shriek like a little girl." She turned her head to Davin, cocking it lightly to one side. The dwarf lightly tapped the instrument on Davin's back. "Can you actually play this, or is this to impress girls?"
