Re: Alienage Back Entrance
He had drifted into a sort of contemplative funk, the two Qunari the only remaining members of the group still near him as the rest of their motley band splintered into bickering factions throughout the Alienage. The possibility that they could do anything effective here seemed to wane by the moment, as arguments and physical blows broke out. Cormac could scarcely keep the contemptuous sneer off his face as he observed the meltdown around him. This were supposed to be the hard line of defense for Ferelden? They were little better than the squabbling packs of urchins that swirled around the streets of the Alienage, screeching over one perceived grievance or another.
With a heavy sigh he dug his fingers into the thick ruff of Shartan at his knee, seeking a measure of patience in the dog's grounding presence. So lost in his own thoughts was he that he nearly missed noticing Falina as she strode purposefully away from the loose knot of elves she had been speaking with at the entrance to the Alienage, Ordhan's tall form shadowing her. He patted Shartan's head reassuringly at his concerned whine. "Yes, I see boy," he muttered with a last glance at the two large Qunari before drifting in Falina's direction. Shok and Hissra were in little danger from anything within the Alienage, and despite whatever else might be eating away at the group Cormac knew his true reason for staying.
His long legs ate up the distance between them quickly, Ordhan's bright armor a beacon amongst the dusty drabness of the dirty sunlight, Shartan trotting along at his heels happily. As he drew closer he overheard Falina speaking to the elf that had accompanied Dolain, a slender fair-faced man that Cormac couldn't shake a sense of recognizing. Squinting thoughtfully at the man, his eyes slid between Davin and the newcomer, Falina and Ordhan.
"You're heading to the market?" he asked softly as he drew up behind Falina, his drawn brows furrowing over his eyes as he tried to puzzle out the new elf's familiarity. "I'm coming." His tone was quiet but firm, brooking no argument. Not that he expected Falina to object to his presence - his attitude was aimed towards the other unknowns, the elf and Davin who was little better than a stranger to Cormac thus far.
Cormac nodded at Ordhan, glad to have the somber knight's company on this side jaunt. His unflappable nature was a welcome change from the tumultuous emotions of their group as a whole, and he appreciated the man's commitment to Falina's safety.
