Re: (ugh, she's such a brat <3 u Mouse))
If Darrian had been surprised on seeing Falina (and Dolain's easy greeting to her) it was nothing to what he felt when the girl let loose her tirade on Dolain. He listened, amazed, as the cute girl gave Dolain a piece of her mind, as cool as a cucumber, completely unfazed by being on Dolain's territory.
Darrian had absolutely no idea what she was referring to, but he couldn't help a stab of admiration. In his opinion, Dolain needed to be brought down a notch or two. Or plenty. And the fact that it was a girl almost half Dolain’s size made it ten times better. He felt the urge to smile, but restrained himself, not wanting to seem patronising, especially when the girl transferred her gaze to him. She was no innocent, that much was certain, but she was still young. Her tone towards him seemed more defensive, rather than aggressive, to him. "You already are," he murmured, glancing at Dolain to see how he was taking Falina’s comments.
Manners kicked in - if Dolain knew the girl, then she wasn't entangled with slavers, even though she was definitely a fish out of water in the alienage. He might not trust Dolain's judgement very far in many things, but the other elf wasn't stupid. "I am Darrian," he said, making sure to introduce himself before Dolain could say something scathing. He couldn’t be too pleased about having an audience right now. “It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance.” He bowed, his eyes fixed on Falina, a small smile on his lips as he did so. As dwarves went, she was certainly something rare and exotic. In better circumstances he would have been enchanted by her. However, these were hardly the best of circumstances.
"But don't let me interrupt, it seems you two have something to talk about," the elf added, as he straightened. Right now – much as he hated being dependent on Dolain – the other boy was the best companion he could have found, if only Dolain would cooperate. Surely there was no one who knew the current situation in the alienage as well as he did. Or his gang, if it was really true that he had been away. But there was little doubt that he had been – Falina’s presence proved that. Still, while the boy was caught up in talking to her, time was ticking, and every moment wasted was a moment which the slavers could use to potentially get away. It was best for them to get this over with as fast as possible so they could continue their hunt. Surely Dolain understood the urgency and would wrap this up rapidly.
