Once she made it to the group, she slipped back out of the Shadows and took up a spot next to Faer. She ignored the looks she was getting at her sudden reappearance, pretending as though she had been there the entire time and you didn't notice? It wasn't until they were inside the Alienage walls that she started moving again. Most the group took a moment to glance around, many having never been to the Alienage before and ... well, it was quite a sight for the first timer. But Lalin had grown up here. The dead dog in the nearby alley, the dirty children, the blind man on the corner, the smell... none of this was new to her. She had been one of those dirty children once. When one of them got too close, his friends moving around to the other side of a, slowly closing in, she realized at once what they were doing. "Off with you!" she shouted at them. "None of those tricks!" The kids scattered at once. Not that she begrudged them for seeing a group of well armed strangers and thinking an easy meal ticket. The boy would have distracted them while the others swept through and took anything of value they could reach. Sneaky bastards, she though, not without a twinge of amusement.
Getting back to the task at hand, Lalin took Faer's hand and motioned to Conlan and Ordhan, drawing the three men off to the side. She knew these three, trusted them. Though, she did trust the rest of the group... it was just... she felt most comfortable around the three of them and she didn't really want to alert the rest of the group when she wasn't even entirely sure that she saw who she thought she saw. In the moment, she had been sure but now as she had time to think, doubts were beginning to creep into her mind. If she was wrong, she didn't want to be wrong in front of the entire group. Giving them all a small smile and without letting go of Fear's hand, she started talking. "Just before the Blight a plague went through the Alienage. Tevinter mages came in saying they had a cure. They were slavers. I got taken in by them and was there when the Wardens came through and got everyone out. I was pretty sick at the time, but I remember the Warden and I remember the slavers."
She took a deep breath, refusing to look at any of her little group. "It might be nothing and I maybe am imagining things. But I'm pretty sure I just ran into one of the slavers in the market. I don't know his name and maybe he's out of the business and maybe it's not even him but... that would be one big coincidence." Lalin tugged nervously on a strand of her hair before continuing. "Tall guy, kind of bulky, blue eyes, receding hairline, kind of scruffy around the jaw. Just... keep an eye out for him, ok? I'll point him out if I see him again but... It can't be a coincidence that I saw him today."
