"I'm glad that you're here." Her smile was almost brimming off of her face, and the sentiment was one truly felt. Ordhan wasn't her closest friend, but his company soothed her, and he was quickly becoming a valued and trusted constant in her life. She drew a bit closer, throwing a look over her shoulder to make sure the other guard wasn't listening. Satisfied that he wasn't, Falina continued, her grin turning impish. "Otherwise I would have had to talk to that guy."
It was a joke, but there was some degree of truth in it; Falina was tired, and while she liked company, she rarely was comfortable with strangers. Her distance and habit of fading off into observation often came off dismissive or rude. It was good to have a friendly face, and she found the tension unwinding completely from her shoulders.
The nightmare had been terrifying, but it was fading quickly in the cold. Falina was at once grateful that she wasn't combating the dread that seemed to settled over her when she was alone.
"To be fair, I was hoping to be asleep, but I had a nightmare, or something." She shrugged lightly, ignoring the gooseflesh rising over her shoulders and forearms. "You couldn't sleep either?"
