Coan Bryland ; the ferelden noble (coan) wrote in thedas,
Glancing around as the small group gathered, Ashya greeting what seemed to be an old friend, he finally noticed the worried look on the new woman's face. He hated to see people frightened of dogs, but he knew very well that everyone had their reasons. She may have had a difficult experience with one in her past, or maybe the stories of ferocious Mabari lingered in the back of her mind. As Noa whined - he assumed she picked up on her uneasiness as well - he rolled his eyes at the offended puppy and moved his writing materials aside. "Hush now," he batted the pup lightly on her muzzle before brushing his hands between her ears. "Sit please, and stay here." He watched her for a moment, his eyes narrowing as she finally sat, huffing like a spoiled child.
Pushing himself up, he brushed his backside of debris and smiled as he approached the dock, doing his best not to intrude on the younger pair's welcoming party. "My apologies, Enchanter, if she frightened you. I think she forgets that her curiosity may be intimidating to those who aren't with her everyday." He inclined his head slightly then as he remembered his manners, "Coan Bryland." A slight grin tugged at the corner of his lips as he gestured back toward the disheartened Mabari. "And that is ever inquisitive Noa. Her barking wasn't warning, only excitement at the sight of new people with no sign of threat."
He hoped that his tone wasn't patronizing, he knew that it could be. He only intended to ease the woman's mind - Noa was the last thing she needed to be frightened of during her time out of the tower. "She's quite tame, and very friendly. In fact, I'm certain that she is eager to meet you and the young Templar here. Though, I will warn you," he lowered his voice a bit, "she's a bit spoiled in the way of snacks. Thanks to a new friend I think she's convinced that anyone wearing the robes of a mage has Mabari Crunch in their pockets."
