Imenry glanced at the mage as she stirred the pot idly, tossing the remaining items into the mix. She wasn't certain what it was about the man that confused her. Did he wish to talk, or not? Did he have certain opinions on Ferelden, or none at all? She didn't think of him as a mage, rather simply as a man. In her experience there was little difference, or she'd been raised to believe as much. They had magic, which was one difference, but it didn't mean their nature, needs or wants were any less than those of men without it.
"Have you fought them before then, Darkspawn that is?" she asked, curiosity slipping into the tone of her voice. She herself had known nothing other than stories, ancient tales before just recently. And even now her only experiences with the creatures were limited to random scouting parties encountered on the road, never a horde of creatures, certainly nothing as terrifying as an archdemon. She knew they were corrupted Dragons, a thought which pained her to imagine seeing, but aside from that she could only imagine what awaited them at the end of this journey. And there was a high chance that it would be their end.
"There's no need to apologize. You are certainly free to have your opinions, and I'm sure that you find the weather, among other things, to be very different from where you grew up. Where I grew up though... it was in the mountains. Snow, year round. So, you might say that Ferelden's weather is even a little more pleasant." She offered him a grin. With the weather here so often being complained about it was hard to imagine a place where conditions were more harsh, though indeed that was the sort of place she was from.
She wondered about him briefly. He'd been quiet on the journey, sort of distanced from the rest of the group perhaps. Did he have other things on his mind, or simply have trouble speaking with people? She was probably one of the worst choices for conversation. She wasn't altogether refined or knowledgeable about more cultured things. When men spent time with a woman like her it wasn't for deep conversation. But maybe he was just feeling a bit lonely, so she resolved to try and make him feel at ease. She could be friendly, it just wasn't a skill she exercised very often.
