Unfortunately, Constans stood between Desi and the girl as she entered, so Desi could only let his temper simmer instead of slamming the door closed as soon as she showed any sign of entering--the impact might've broken her nose, but Desi figured that'd be an improvement to her face all things considered. He recognized her easily enough, she was one of the freshly anointed mages, though she was such as slip of a girl that it was hard to ever think of her as anything more than an apprentice.
If he were always pestered with questions when he was in the mages' quarters, Desi could see why Constans was so rarely seen about. Desi would make himself scarce too--but then, the Tranquil wouldn't suffer from chronic cases of Severely Annoyed anyhow, would they?
Desi let Constans answer her questions, trivial as they were. "And to believe that I thought the Harrowing made apprentices less of a bother. If we need to hand out step-by-step guides to the store room, then it's not even a trial of intelligence, much less of character. What could I have been thinking?"
