"Ordhan," Lalin said with a smile that she didn't feel. "You can call me Lalin, you know. I've been Lalin much longer than I've been a Grey Warden." Which was more true than she meant. She wasn't yet comfortable with the Grey Warden title. It seemed... too big for her, like it didn't fit. Perhaps that would get better with time.
Ordhan continued to talk and the smile dropped from her face. She had been wondering about his reaction to Dolain, which was what she assumed he wanted to talk about. It was easy to see that Dolain was an unsavory character. He wasn't exactly subtle. But most people were just suspicious. Ordhan had outright hate coming off of him in waves when she had introduced her former lover. It had been surprising, to say the least.
Though, perhaps it shouldn't have been. Lalin may have, at one time, been naive to what it was that Dolian and he gang got up to but, as she had gotten older, such illusions had fallen away. She knew several of the terrible things that he had done to people, elves and humans alike. And Ordhan had been a guard in the Alienage at one point. It was not a stretch to think that he had wound up on the wrong side of Dolain's attention.
"Go ahead," she said gently, lowering the tone of her voice, wanting to settle any fear that he may have about her automatically backing Dolain.
