Thais was not a shy person. She considered shyness to get in the way of so many people’s lives. Being timid and hiding behind books, doors, and whatever many mages used to avoid constantly interacting with others seemed useless to Thais. Those types of people would never get anything they wanted precisely because they never would become comfortable with being aggressive. Thais prided herself in being bold and placing herself in experiences instead of just letting them happen to her.
If it wasn’t for this attitude, it was possible Thais would not have the position of Enchanter and still be considered a mage. It was a fairly new title, having been awarded to her after she was taken on by Senior Enchanter Athanael as an apprentice. Even though it had already been a few months, Thais still didn’t consider herself an Enchanter in her thoughts. Yet, when she did remember the title applied to her, the respect the title commanded made her enjoy it immensely. In her own opinion, it also looked beautiful in front of her name on parchment.
Yet with the new title, came a lot of new responsibilities. She knew there were many expectations placed upon Enchanters of the Circle, especially when it concerned politics, but it hadn’t quite registered in her thought process. When Thais was just a mage, there were still some expectations (there always were in the Tower), but they weren’t quite as monitored. She was able to interact with mostly anyone she wished and she did. However, being the older one with the more powerful title was quite different to her. It still held a sensation that sparked her interest enough that she decided to follow through to see how much the thrill could increase until it would reach a plateau.
Thus when she finally found herself alone with Constans, she didn’t bother holding back. The atmosphere of the Tranquil quarters was something different as well and Thais couldn’t help but applaud the young man at the ingenious of the idea. She hadn’t expected him to actually be able to find a place that would be accommodating, but realized that she shouldn’t be surprised that he had. Constans was especially skilled at being able to go about the tower undetected, a trait that Thais appreciated in the other.
While Thais did have her own private quarters, she did not want to take Constans back there, not until she had figured out who was around in that particular corridor. She already knew a few uptight Enchanters lived nearby and would probably frown upon her bringing anyone back to her room for the night, let alone an Apprentice.
She ran her hands over the front of Constans’ robes before wrapping her arms around the other’s neck. As the other broke the kiss and leaned back to grin, she smiled back with a mischievous expression of her own. The teasing gasp from the young man made Thais giggle. She lightly traced Constans’ jawline with her fingertip.
“Am I that obvious?” She teased back, “Here I was going for subtlety.” It was clearly a joke. Thais was aware that her subtle actions would probably be the most daring actions ever for some of the other female Enchanters in the Tower. She leaned in, kissing the other’s neck, leaving a trail of light pecks along the male’s skin before landing a kiss upon his lips. She leaned back out, raising an eyebrow in amusement and awaiting Constans to continue.
