While others prepared to settle for the night by gathering supplies and performing various other tasks, Thais was already sitting inside her own tent. As soon as they had decided to stop for the night, she approached one of the males. Really, she assumed she could have gone to any of the males and convince them to do the task. She could have had Constans set it up, but whenever she went near the tranquil, another person always seemed to hover close. Instead, this night she decided to try something different and spoke to the young dwarf boy. It wasn’t difficult convincing Rhocanth to set up the tent for her. The dwarf seemed absolutely willing to help. It was slightly amusing to see the shorter boy set up the tent since it ended up being a few inches taller than him and Thais had a hard time keeping her smile hidden.
Once he was done, Thais thanked Rhocanth, leaning down with a gentle hand on his shoulder and landing a swift kiss to his cheek. A proper, yet slightly more friendly than necessary, thank you for the boy. It was returned with an even more proper bow and good night.
She smiled as the dwarf took his leave before retreating inside the tent. The woman didn’t feel like speaking to any of the party members and most seemed busy with other activities anyways. Thais was aware that her tent-mate, Lucressia, was still arguing with that Ox. The other night, Thais had walked by to hear the woman threatening the creature and had been a bit confused, but didn’t bother asking. She did not know about animals, perhaps they required threats to keep them in line.
Thais sat on her bedroll. Her ankles criss-crossed and legs neatly to the side. She was brushing her hair. One-thousand strokes and then she would tie it up before sleeping for the night. Humming lightly to herself, she stared about the tent as she counted the strokes in her head. After a few, she set the brush down and stood.
The yellow Enchanter robes that she wore were becoming uncomfortable. Leaning over to her pack, she pulled out a more casual robe. It wasn’t a night robe since there was always the possibility that she would have to jump out of the tent at any point, but it was much more comfortable than the robes the Circle provided. As she began to unbuckle, untie and remove her Enchanter robes, she paused when Lucressia came into the tent. She blinked before looking away and continuing.
Thais nodded in agreement to the woman’s comment. It was cold, but she was trying not to think about it, especially while changing. Setting the belts of the robes to the side, she kept her attention away from Lucressia, staring at the wall of the tent as she shimmied the rest of her clothing off (including her undergarments). Thais reached down, grabbing the other set of robes. She wasn’t necessarily embarrassed, having been use to changing in the Apprentice dorms and when she traveled with Ashya in the previous trip, but it was very cold and so she hurried along so that her bare skin wasn’t exposed any longer.
