This is my last post before Greece. Have fun you guys!
Lalin stared at the humans, trying to hide her disgust. Her own brush with slavery when she was a child had been more than enough to give her a distaste for the practice, not to mention the fact that it was illegal in Ferelden. She hoped that this little skirmish wouldn’t end in bloodshed but if what this man said was true, Lalin had no doubt as to what side the Grey Wardens would be on.
She tried not to listen to the man’s soft voice and familiar tone, but Lalin knew it was a lost cause. There was no way she could be neutral in this. With a small sigh, she made to move towards the boy’s body before a thought pulled her up short. An elf searching the body would likely make the humans suspicious. She knew that she would not have trusted a human’s word if their roles had been reversed and Lalin held no particular distaste for the humans. These men obviously held elves in little regard but what else could…
A thought suddenly striking her, Lalin turned, searching the edge of the trees for Falina. As a dwarf, the girl would be a neutral party and neither side could argue that they had tampered with the evidence to prove one point or the other. “Falina?” she called, motioning for her to join them. Lalin gave her an apologetic look for drawing her away from Cormac. She knew that the two were friends and likely they wanted to reassure themselves that the other was alright but… well, there were more important things at hand.
Laln leaned over to speak against Falina’s ear. “This man says that there should be papers on that boy’s body that proves the humans were going to sell them to Tevinter. Can you check? I don’t want to send anyone else because…” Lalin made a vague motion towards her ears.
