Lalin approached the scene with her bow out and a clear look a furry on her face. She had seen Dolain’s reaction, his shooting of an unarmed human. She knew that he hated humans but she had also expected him to behave, to not cause trouble. She had promised the group that he wouldn’t be a problem. Promised them. Dolain had betrayed her trust and she was furious. Her first promise to her team as a Grey Warden and Dolain had made her a liar. She wanted so badly to hit him, but they needed a united front against these men.
“Hissra,” she said firmly, evenly, trying to block all anger from her voice. “Heal the ones with serious wounds. Including that one,” she looked over at injured man. “I don’t care if he did cause the skirmish. Neither attacked us so neither are our enemies, for the moment, anyway.” Lalin knew she was asking the qunari to heal what could be people who would later try to kill them, but maybe they would remember this little bit of kindness before they drew their swords? Especially from an elf, which they didn’t seem to have a high opinion of.
“Now I want to know what in the Maker’s name is going on here?” she snapped, voice strong and back straight. Her fingers shook, however. This whole ‘leading’ thing was going to take some getting used to. Lalin had never been part of a team before. She always joined or left groups at her own will. To be asked to lead one now… Well, she was determined now to mess this up. She glanced at their warriors and then forced herself to look away. Looking for their approval would only make her more nervous.
“You say you aren’t to blame for what happened here,” she said, looking at Davin. “What exactly did happen here? “ She looked between the two men who seemed to be the leaders of the elves and humans respectively. She tried not to give preference to the elves just because they shared a rare but… it was difficult. Especially the way things currently looked.
