Following after Hissra he kept his eyes on his mage, he would be casting magic and for now that Karashok would be watching him closely. This would be the first time that the other would be casting in battle and this Karashok was not about to leave him unattended. Staring over Hissra’s shoulder at the battle beyond his frown deepened. He was not going to rush into a battle that had nothing to do with their group and abandon their companions. Gritting his teeth, eyes seething he glared out at the warriors who had rushed off without a though. Every defensive warrior had left the other members behind with little to no defense; this was a very poor strategy.
Jaw tensing as another member of their group dashed off into the fray, this time the elven tagalong, he took a deep breath and tried to remain as relaxed as possible. Tilting his head to the side to look back at his remaining comrades, one eye still on his mage, and jerked his chin forward, motioning for his remaining companions to come closer. The Karashok could not hear anything in the woods surrounding them but it was wiser to stay together in case something was lurking, hidden even from his senses. Watching them slowly shuffle forward he nodded in approval and turned his gaze back to the fight taking place.
Skin tingling as Hissra prepared his spells the Karashok nervously shifted, resisting the urge to shift away. Adjusting his stance he moved in closer to his mage, standing guard a step behind him, waiting for something to go wrong. Puffing out a short breath he focused his gaze on Hissra’s hands weaving through the air, eyes intent on the magic swirling there only to be released into the ether, vanishing and reappearing beneath the feet of those fighting. Swallowing at the reminder of Hissra’s fate, of his place in the world, the Karashok turned away, eyes roving the battlefield in an attempt to figure out what was going on.
Sensing another presence close by the Karashok turned his gaze downwards to watch the small Warden and the Mabari at his side. Tilting his head to observe the young girl he nodded quickly in approval at her stance, she was nervous but the dwarf was ready for battle. Standing to fight when one was scared was an admirable thing to do, she was not shirking her duty to give in to her fear, this was an honorable decision that he respected. Grim smile pulling at his lips he raised one hand in greeting and gently placed it on the girls head, hoping to steady her nerves. This Karashok stood by her side this day, she was his comrade and if their enemies drew close he would fight by her side.
Ears perking up at the call for the fighters to lay down their weapons he turned his gaze away from Falina and to the fighting below, quickly picking out his companions strewn among the fighters. Waiting for their opponents to do as commanded he took a step forward away from the girl and the war hound to stand at his mage’s side when the order was obeyed, resting one hand on Hissra’s shoulder. Tightening his grip for a moment he released the other Qunari and clapped him on the back. “Enough. Check our companions first. Heal them. We decide after if we will aid the others.”
