The elf blinked back a stinging at his eyes and without thinking further about it, he jumped into the fray. He passed by Conlan rapidly. There were only a few humans and elves left standing to fight. Three of the humans and two of the elves had already been attended to by the warriors, so Dolain went to the other side of the fray where a human and an elf were fighting in an exhausted manner. Both seemed ready to just finish, barely able to attack and dodge each other’s weak attempts to hit the other. They had paused to gaze at the newcomers with wide eyes, warily keeping an eye on each other. When the warriors had begun to take down a couple of men, they had turned back to fight but the words that Ordhan bellowed had given them pause. Both clung to swords. Both looked ready to just let them go.
It was this point when Dolain went up behind the human swiftly. Dolain kicked out, his foot landing in the lower back of the human. It wasn’t a strong kick, just enough to get the human’s attention. As the human spun around to face who had kicked him, Dolain greeted him with a firm punch to the jaw. His hand instantly stung from the impact, but having the human stumble back in pain was worth it. The elf that had been fighting looked confused and took a couple steps back from the fresh brawl.
When Ordhan called the order to lay down weapons a second time, Dolain had just pulled off his bow. He had an arrow loosely nocked, the direction of the bow pointed towards the ground, when he glanced over to see most of the others had stopped fighting. He stared at the human in front of him who was holding his jaw tenderly. Dolain growled, his hands shaking as he held his bow and arrow. The human shook his head, lowering the sword in response to Ordhan’s words but keeping a wary eye on Dolain.
Dolain looked around, gazing at the fallen elves upon the ground again. He didn’t raise his bow and arrow, but he pulled the string back. The arrow flew right into the human’s foot. “Whoops” He murmured, setting his bow on his shoulder, “Lay down your weapons.” He repeated to the two he was with even though the human, who was now cursing in agony over the arrow in his foot, had already dropped the sword. Dolain nodded to the other elf and didn’t care that the elf was taking time lowering the weapon.
Dolain darted over to join what seemed to be the main part of the fray where discussion was beginning. he looked at the elf that was on his knees, speaking. The elf looked a little familiar… but then again it could just be from the dirt and blood, many elves looked familiar that way. He glanced over at the others from the group and found it difficult to keep quiet but he forced himself to anyways. Clutching his hands into fists, he glared at the unknown shems. There was an anger glinting in his eyes that made it clear Dolain was a vengeful elf that would have no qualms in having to choose a side even with no backstory to the skirmish.
