Ashya felt herself relax at Constans' assurance that he would keep the matter secret, knots of tension she hadn't been aware of melting instantly. Her secret was safe, for now. She'd taken a gamble, and while it hadn't exactly paid off, it hadn't compromised her either.
"Us?" she repeated, tilting her head sideways, looking puzzled. She glanced around the room, as if checking they were alone, before understanding filtered through. "Oh! You mean back in the tower...no, I didn't know back then about..." she checked herself, feeling a flicker of annoyance. She really had to learn to curb her tongue. Blurting everything out because she was feeling at ease was something she had to grow out of completely.
"I mean, I always found the Tranquil interesting," she amended. Although that didn't sound much better. Almost like they were a strange species of insect, to be studied and dissected. Hardly flattering. But they would hardly take offence. "And then, of course," she added, rather impishly, eyes twinkling, putting her hands behind her back. "There was you."
