Hearing the name from someone else's lips made the girl pause, a very strange feeling slithering down her spine; partly fear, but mostly excitement. It somehow made Jowan more real - less a figment of her overactive imagination and more of a real person who was, possibly, somewhere out there, waiting to be found.
It also felt like too much tension was suddenly knotted into her shoulders, because now someone else knew about him - and this time it she had been the one to mention it first. If Constans brought it up in front of anyone with any authority…but no, she could make sure he wouldn’t do that.
“He’s…yes,” the young mage said carefully, trying to conceal her excitement. She looked at Constans closely, eyes bright, deciding that instead of pretending to be deaf and not having heard his question it would be better to try another tactic. “But it’s a secret, okay? You won’t tell anyone?” she asked, hoping that Tranquil could keep secrets if they weren’t coming from the Circle directly.
