Ashya looked at him for a moment in silence, before nodding, seeming to calm down somewhat. Constans was right. There probably was a list somewhere that she could consult...except that it was back at the Tower. Where she would be returning only after this darkspawn thing was over. And then she would not have any reason to leave the Tower again. Certainly it would be hard to find another reason to convince Cullen to let her leave.
She sighed, slumping against the back of the chair. Why hadn't she thought about this before they left? Although she knew the answer to that. If she hadn't gotten so careless as to let Cullen catch her eavesdropping...but there was hardly any use bemoaning past actions now.
She considered Constans thoughtfully for a few moments longer. Could she somehow ask him to write to someone at the tower to find out for her? But she would have to give him a name...and trusting even him with that would be a risk. However, he wasn't old enough to know about Jowan personally. He probably would have no idea of the man, or that he was her father. Although if he did know him then he would most certainly realise the truth with their resemblance.
What should she do? Constans was leaving with a different set of people by the morrow, and there wasn't much time to decide. Although really, even if he did write to the tower, and they replied without kicking up a fuss, it might take her forever to meet Constans again.
Torn between asking for help and leaving well enough alone she dimly became aware Constans's eyes weren't as unfocused as she was used to. She shifted uncomfortably in her chair, fiddling nervously with her sleeves, before forcing her hands to relax to try and give an impression of ease. "Do you know who might have such a thing?" she asked, wondering if forging a letter in Constans' name was a possibility.
