"As for what I want?"
"But what do you want out of this?"
"Do you know what you want?"
The voices blur until Savio stands in front a man. He speaks in the Antivan tongue with rapid words and filled with emotion. It is beautiful and sharp, like an ornate knife of silver that slashes with peerless precision. His body is thin and lithe, his clothes is typical of the rich Antiva merchant... Though they cannot fully conceal arm muscles corded with power and rage. While the attire is some of the finest that Savio has seen, the young Crow can only look at them for a moment, before shame causes him to look to his feet. The mudded boots are now the size of a grown elf, but Savio have yet to consider myself like a true man. This talk only serves to delay those feelings.
"Do you know what you want? You had simple kill. An eeeeassssy kill. All you had to do was to lure him into the shadows and finish him. You could have fled the protectors or killed them too... Not a hard feat for either, considering your training. There have been boys four years younger to do this, yet you choose the path of weakness. Do you want to be weak?" the man shouts, close enough that flecks of spit drop upon the dirty and downcast face of the Crow.
While his stance is filled with shame, his voice is filled with strength. "The man is dead by my hands. I do not see why you are upset," Savio pronounces firmly.
"By your own hand?" The balding man is not impressed, pushing the young elf into the wall. "That is like saying blacksmiths are all murderers or those that sell seed farmers! I know what you did. I know how you did it. While others may think it some clever ruse and I will defend it for my OWN sake, you and I know why got someone else to deliver the poison. Because you couldn’t do what was needed," the older elven man leans in closer to speak clearly into Sav’s pointed ear, enunciating each word to ensure the full weight is felt. "Because you choose the path of the coward."
"I did what was requested of me." The response is fired back swiftly, the young killer not wishing the previous claim linger a moment longer. "He is dead. Few, if anyone, suspects it was me and no one could implicate me, even if they wished. My cunning allowed me the perfect crime, because I did not perform the act in the way you would have..." Savio lifts his head to look at his accuser. As the other elf steps away, the younger continues on with a facial expression of defiance. "...You wish to dismiss my accomplishment. Most handlers would applaud my technique. Unique but highly effective, a sign of those that live in the future, not the past."
A scoff is given as the more experienced Crow circles the novice. "Do not abandoning tradition and the spirit of your order to forward thinking, young Corloni. You may think yourself to be a proud and cunning Crow, but I know what you are... Nothing but a coward of a killer. If you truly want to be in control, Savio, you must take what you want without regret."
Savio’s hand drifts toward his short sword, even as the handler’s hand moves to a concealed blade. There are a few moments of tension before Savio’s hand eases away once more. "Do not pretend to know my desires," he proclaims as he walks away once more, leaving a thoroughly unimpressed elf behind.
