He laughed again, though the deep rumble carried a great deal of warmth rather than any mockery. "Ah, something like this would normally be a fair sum of sovereigns, especially on a rush order... But you are a Grey Warden, and a friend of the Sister here, not to mention this is a gift for a...friend of yours." The pause at the word 'friend' was every indication of why he had been so amused. Beth tried not to squirm at his inference, though he had already moved on to his real point, "So I think a discount is in order. Four sovereigns. That's half-price." He was an outcast from his people for his religious convictions, but he was certainly no less of a salesman than any other surfacer.
Beth was grinning now, completely thrilled that all parts of this plan had been a success thus far. She had enough gold on her, and would have offered more, but he was being incredibly generous and she wasn't going to argue with him. "Yes, that would be perfect. I can pay now, if--"
He shook his maned head, "You can pay upon its completion. If I start now, I'll have it ready for you if you'll return around dawn."
"That would be excellent. I'll be here as soon as possible. Thank you again, so much," the mage responded earnestly.
