"I think if I take Kinai with me, I'll be safe," the elf said cheerfully. "Look at her...no one can resist her! Not even the scary dwarf, right? Right. And he's mad at you too? Wow, I guess they really do have reason to keep men away from this boat." Darrian nodded towards Alerrin at the wheel. "What about him? Still working off his debt to Bob as well?" He realised that Thren hadn't really answered his question, but that was fine. He wasn't too happy about talking about what had landed him on The Northern Star either.
"Hey, you put on a pretty good show back...back there." Darrian's smile faltered for a second before returning full force. "I bow to your acting skills. I was so shocked to find you at the docks that I kind of stopped thinking." That was his excuse, anyway, and he was sticking to it.
