He winced as the elf child abandoned her game, her large round eyes peering around the mast. It was hard to make himself smaller, and he hated intimidating people. It happened easily around elves and children, and he tried to sit around them when he could.
Thren smiled in greeting, not quite willing to stand. Sitting he was as tall as the child, and moving to tower over a frightened head was poor form. She was accompanied by an older elf, only a few years younger than himself. The sun was bright overhead, and Thren shaded his eyes against it.
His smile was genuine, but not overbright, too much enthusiasm could frighten the girl more. "Hey there, I've yet to see either of you, I'm Thren."
