Kinai seemed to be doing some kind of dance around the mast, but her eyes went round on seeing Thren. What a big man! She peered at him cautiously from behind the mast, before running to Darrian, whispering in his ear about a giant. Although having recovered much of her liveliness during her stay on The Northern Star, she hadn't quite lost the fear of humans that the slavers had instilled in her.
Darrian smiled at her, quite sure that she was making it up, unless she was referring to Alerrin, who was pretty tall for an elf. But he let her lead him forwards, until he could see the human. He was surprised, as most of the crew seemed to be elven (not to mention mostly female) but he supposed that Viara hadn't saved all her crew from slavery, right?
He ran his eyes over the man, studying him interestedly. He was tall - really tall, he could see why Kinai had called him a giant - muscular, and handsome. Very handsome, and...the face tickled at his memory. He'd seen him before, back in the Pearl. Not a client, but a conversation - of course! Cormac's apostate pseudo boyfriend!
Darrian stared at the man in shock, amazed that he would run into the man again here of all places. On a ship in the middle of - he had no idea where, actually, but that was kind of the point. He had long ago figured the man would remain a memory for him to think of when he was dead bored - like what would have happened if he had accused him of being an apostate and the man had unleashed his spells and leveled all of the Pearl before the templars caught up to him. He didn't even know his name. And yet here he was, in the flesh, on the same ship that Darrian was.
The elf felt a grin forming on his face, especially with the giggles he could see on some of the pirates' faces with the looks they shot him. Could this be the guy that the captain was entertaining often that he kept hearing about? Truly, he couldn't fault the man at all for his choice. Still holding Kinai's hands he moved closer to Thren, still smiling. Most probably Thren wouldn't even recognise him, but he would soon remind him.
