Viara smirked a little. She was always underestimated, always. It wasn't like she had never spent a night in the forest.
Granted...it was on the outskirts. With a really, really big fire. But it counted.
"Well, thanks to your gracious rescue, sir, we shall never have to find that out." She couldn't help some amount of amusement seeping into her voice at the thought - she knew it was better in general to be underestimated. If she had thought, she might have realized that it might sound like she was laughing at the older elf - but as it was, she was so grateful to have found a Dalish camp, that she couldn't help but cling on to whatever good mood found its way into her heart and mind.
When they stopped, Vi pulled herself up to her entire tiny height, nodding with respect towards the Keeper. She searched back through her memory for the proper response to Merrill - she recognized the greeting as a formal, if somewhat stiff, welcome.
The Captain licked her lips, and then executed an abbreviated bow. It was obvious that it was not something that Viara did often or well - her motion jerky, though she added a flair with her arm to try to make the whole thing a bit more extravagant.
"Ma serannas ...Hahren." She thought the term "Hahren" meant Elder, though the words was a little fuzzy within her memory. "Thank you for the kind greeting. Your hunter here speaks the truth, I am bringing these two young women who wish to join with the Dalish. Yours is the first clan we've come across. I am very happy to have found you, actually - we'd been...wandering around a bit." Viara started out well, with a formal, brisk and respectful tone, though her voice faltered at the end in sheepish embarrassment.
"I mean you no harm, and I am sure they certainly do not. I intercepted them as they were to be sold into service, Keeper."
