“I guess that’s what it was. I mean he put up all those cheese thief posters after that. It woke me up out of a sound sleep though. I’m fairly sure I attempted to kill a wall with a pillow before I fell back asleep. I don’t really remember but that would explain how one of them got all the way across the room,” his words were laced with laughter as he spoke and continued to drag her along. He always had been too heavy a sleeper in things like that. Took a bit for him to wake up. A charging horse could go through his room and the Templar /might/ turn over. Possibly.
“She’ll never let me live it down!” his words were again amused as he glanced back towards the woman that he walked with. “Watch her. She’ll bring it up at the worst possible moments. Also. I am not cute. I'm manly and impressive.” He smiled towards Beth for a moment as he let his mind wonder for a moment. This was…nice. Not mage and Templar, or even Warden and Templar. Simply Aurin and Beth. As one the only really active Templar in the Keep at the moment he could afford moments like this. To be a little more Aurin and a little less Templar was a relief. There was a part of him that wished to pull her back into his room right then. Not to share this moment with anyone else. He knew he couldn’t do that, but the temptation was there. He was not by nature a coward, but the fact that he didn’t know how she might react to all the things that he had done in the past years worried him.
He could put aside the worry though, in favor of enjoying the time with this most important woman. It was a long and mostly uneventful walk. Pleasant for all of that though. He peeked carefully around corners and skulked in the shadows like he actually knew what he was doing. Dee would have laughed at him, Vi would have laughed at him, Seda would have killed herself laughing. All that went though his mind and he realized that he didn’t mind in the least. He would not have traded those few moments for anything. Beth was smiling and happy for the first time he had seen her today and Aurin was happy for it.
He was mildly surprised when he suddenly found himself pulled into the dark little alcove. For a moment he wondered what was wrong. The sound of hurried footsteps came to his ear and he pressed himself back against the stone wall behind him as a wide smile slowly spread across his face. He was enjoying himself immensely and it showed in the brightness of his eyes and the curve of his smile. “We. I can’t believe we are doing this. Though if I’m the Fox just who are you supposed to be? I remember you always liked Karolis.” Slowly he peeked around the corner, his head just above hers as he looked. He tried his best to ignore just how close there were in this alcove in favor of their thievery. “…is it clear?” He asked with a hardly restrained laugh, his voice a whisper in her ear.
