There were man heartbeats before someone called something from the other side of the door. The sound was muffled and the voice indistinct. It could be a familiar voice, or it could be a stranger. After a few more heartbeats later and the door was pulled slowly open to reveal a Templar standing just inside the doorway. He wasn’t the Templar she might have been on the lookout for, but he was a Templar none the less. Kendric blinked for a moment in owlish confusion before he smiled easily. “Hello Mage--er--Warde---Sir…what…am I supposed to call you now?” He babbles for a moment before he shook his head lightly. “Sorry! Sorry, what can I do for you?” He asked with that same earnest smile that he usually carried on his face.
It seemed she should have been worried about getting the wrong room.
Aurin himself happened to not be in his room though. He had been out for most of the day, and for much of the previous night. He had looked for the newly minted Grey Warden himself for most of the night after finding out that she had survived. His search had been fruitless then, but he had set out too look for her once again. He again had missed her, but in town he had found something else. Something he had needed to find and he was quite pleased with it. However he still had yet to find the mage that he had been friends with for so long. He had looked on the walls, the windows, the towers, the library. He couldn’t find her anywhere, and he had been moving in the tower so much that not one of the messengers had been able to run him down. He had decided finally to return to his room though to rest and perhaps pack. He knew that the assignments would be made quite soon, that they would all be leaving.
He came up the stairs quietly, his eyes on the stone floor. In one hand he held a small package, tucked behind his back. He didn’t wear his armor, but he as always carried the claymore strapped to his back. He started towards his own door before he glanced up. A look of surprise passed his face as he saw the object of his search simply standing there. A smile spread across his face along with the surprise before he began to walk forwards. His steps slowed however before he reached her. After his last encounter he wasn’t sure just how good an idea that might be. He was already committed to his action though, and he was not one to run away from much of anything. His smile returned to his face as his steps grew strong as he advanced on the woman once again.
“Beth,” he said with a warm note in his voice. He never had used titles with the woman, and he didn’t intend to start now. “I’ve been looking for you.” He flashed her a smile as he spoke, still hiding one hand behind his back as he came to a stop in front of both her and Kendric.
