A smile crinkled around the knight's eyes as the young woman introduced herself. She was as friendly as he had guessed from her entrance to the Keep, and her manners were as gracious as any noblewoman, though without any trace of arrogance or condescension. Falina seemed both surprised and pleased by the attention, pink tinging her smiling cheeks. She didn't seem as amused as being called "miss" as she had been at her and Ordhan's first meeting. Perhaps she was growing used to the respect; as a Grey Warden, it would be very common.
The knight found it interesting that a human noble had been mentioned. Certainly one of Ferelden would have no reason to treat a Grey Warden recruit from the dwarves with anything but reverence. Still, Ordhan could not prevent the stubborn stab of distrust that surfaced for any noble. It was a prejudice he had found no reason to doubt, but it was unpleasant in company like this.
Though Falina was surprised at the mage's enthusiasm for meeting her, it made sense to Ordhan; they shared friends and acquaintances, and no doubt curiosity about the future Grey Wardens was rampant. He held it, himself, though he would not have imagined to find a swift friendship like Falina's among them. He was much more surprised that Beth had hoped to meet him. Knight though he was, here he was just another blade for battle, a mortal in a hall of heroes. It was nothing to warrant the bright smile on the young woman's face.
"An honor to meet you, Beth." He dipped his head again. "I admit I had hoped to meet you, as well. Have you been able to meet many of those here at the Keep? I have been here for some time and have met only a few." As he spoke, he realized it was more likely his own doing than any lack of chance. As ever, he kept to his usual haunts of the training grounds or the walls, with the occasional trip to the library for research on the Blights. This left him in the company of few beyond Conlan and Hilda.
Falina's question left him puzzled. "Leaves?" he asked, but went on to answer, "It is not overly common, no."
