"You didn't interuppt." Well, Bethen did, but only in the literal sense. The conversation, while heavy, had winded down and likely they would have shifted topics in the next breath. The woman was polite, and certainly welcome.
She blushed though at the praise, surprised that this woman had wanted to meet her. It was odd, but not in the way that the woman expected. In Dust Town, she never met anyone who didn't know her connections to the Carta, or who actually looked forward to making her acquaintance.
Her cheeks tinged pinker when she mentioned Rho and Coan, concerned as to what exactly was said. Coan was friendly, and she shared her first breakfast on the Surface in his company. He was open and honest about his concerns back home, about the family and responsibility he'd left behind. He was refreshing, and a near opposite to Cormac's closed gruff exterior.
Rhocanth was a different story; their small glances and touches having only endeared him to her. They hadn't kissed since the night in Lothering, and despite being friends only with the boy, her heart still jumped if he looked at her just right- or smiled in his casual, easy way.
"It's... different for me- but not odd. They- it's nice to hear that they thought to tell you good things. I- OH! Bethen... the one- you helped Rho with the leaves?" Falina laughed, chewing her lip thoughtfully, unsure how much noise she could make in a library. "Right?"
She canted her head to Ordhan. "If this is who I think it is... she helped my friend climb a tree... I mean- Bethen isn't a common Surface name, is it?"
