"You're affiliated with the Chantry then? So you're a scholar and architect working for them?" She carried the ale over to the other woman, this new information rattling about in her head. Dee didn't seem terribly strict for someone in the Chantry, especially if she was drinking, and her statement about it bought a laugh to Imenry's lips and she smiled, before offering one bottle forward and popping the cap of her own.
She took a long drink before reaching for the sandwich again. "Perhaps. Actually... I offered. She looked rather lost and a little bit pathetic. And after she got recruited I didn't really want to leave her alone. Is it just study that brings you here? Or did you come with others? It seems almost everyone here is friends with someone else."
She ate her sandwich quickly enough. She was hungrier than she'd realized, really, and Dee certainly knew how to slap meat on bread. And before they'd arrived at the keep she'd been eating nothing other than jerky and stew. She was used to this of course, but having a nice cooked meal, or even something as simple as a sandwich now and again was nice. And even though she'd wasted little time eating, she wasn't completely without manners. She took another sip of the ale to wash it down and tilted her head towards Dee as the woman asked a question.
"Oh... I've been to Orlais actually. I have to admit I didn't care for it. I'm not the sort of woman who fits into that environment." Her smile was a quick flash. "I'm not sure what compelled me to go in the first place. But it took me several months to get out. I worked my way south on the highway. So I think I've been to nearly every one of their cities. There are other places I'd like to see, if I get the chance. But I've been sticking around Ferelden mostly for close to the past two years."
She wondered what placed Dee had been, and if she liked Orlais herself. She didn't seem like the type of woman who favored pretty, uncomfortable shoes and dresses covered in flounces, but she couldn't really judge that yet. Besides, she may have enjoyed the history of the place enough to overlook their fashion sense and their general snobby attitude. "Do you have a favorite place that you've been?"
