Here Comes Trouble Who: Lalin, Dolain Where: Vigil's Keep When: 9:45 (Before the Joining, after meeting Faer) Summary: Lalin is surprised by an old friend Rating: PG-13.
Lalin was daydreaming. She sat alongside the courtyard wall with a mortar and pestle in her lap, flasks and elfroot and various agents scattered about around her. A crumpled up scroll lay by her feet. She hadn't the heart to tell the Warden who had given her the recipe for the poultice she was currently grinding elfroot for that she couldn't read, or even really need the recipe. She had long since had all the common ones pounded into her head, first by her grandmother and then by her mistress. Lalin didn't need to think about it to know when to add the distillation agent or when the poultice was ready to be poured into a clean flask and a good thing too. Her mind had stopped focusing on her task a long time ago.
Instead, it had zeroed in on a certain Dalish mage she had just met. He had captured her attention. Handsome and kind and a little shy all wrapped up with magic and a certain air about him that made her want to snuggle into his arms and kiss him breathless. Lalin was giddy with the new infatuation. He had called her pretty and had seemed just as attracted to her as she was to him. The thought made her body tingle and her heart beat just a little bit faster.
With her mind so full of not only Faer, but new lessons in close combat, in how to make new arrows, new potions and poisons, not to mention with the whirl of new people coming and going from the Keep, the last thing on Lalin's mind was her life in the Alienage. Or, to be more precise, the people she had left in the Alienage.
