He let her go when she decided it was time, his fingers sliding away from her as he she stepped away from him. He watched her closely before he just had to smirk. No, she wasn’t embarrassed in the least. She was back to being herself it seemed, or at least as close to being herself as she could be in the situation. He drew in his own breath of air before he closed his eyes, then slowly opened them again to smile towards the woman.
“Well yes he did at that. I had my own reasons, different ones but I had my own. Though mine didn’t include the whole Templar package like Alderic’s desires did.”, he chuckled softly towards the woman before he nodded his head once. “I can’t help being a friend. He’s been there for me threw a lot, and he told me how you broke his arm.”, he added with a smirk towards her. “Which is one of the best stories ever.”
He looked away then and out of the window. “I am worried sick about her, but don’t you tell her that when she comes back.” The admission cost him, the neutral look that suddenly crossed his face as his eyes slid shut. He opened them once more and turned his look towards Dee again. “…and I should talk to Beth. Yes.” He should, but he likely wouldn’t. “…and who is to say that our own destinies aren’t just as grand and dangerous. After all I plan on joining in all this fun. Can‘t let Alderic have all the glory.”
Again a smile flickered to his face, this one even reached his eyes. “Alright, I think this night does call for a drink…and I’m sure I can find someone to find us some whiskey. Maker knows we need it. Lets get out of here Dee, and find something more cheerful to contemplate.”, he paused a moment before he smirked. “I’ll tell you have saving a dark haired elf almost got me drowned.”
