Aurin had grown up in a similar way. Only one person believed in him, and only one friend for the longest time. He knew how important little moments of affection were, better than most people knew. He knew how tired she was, how frustrated and in need of a little moment like this she was. He also knew that she would never admit to any of that. Not if the world depended on it.
He only had faith in few things, but the three of them was one thing that he had to believe in. It was one thing that made some of the things just a little more bearable. Knowing that he had two friends that simply accepted him for who and what he was, even if they didn’t always understand him.
“Yes. We are. Don’t pretend you don’t like it.”, Aurin returned towards the woman as he held her and a smirk crossed his face. “And you are the most stubborn woman I’ve ever met, and the third idiot in our little group.”
He watched her as she slowly relaxed and had to smile slightly. His blue eyes were chips of sapphire in the fading light of the sun. He smiled a slight and lopsided smile down towards the woman before he sighed at her few words.
“Yes. Yes that’s what I did.”, he murmured softly. “Call me an idiot if you like, but Alderic is twice the Templar that I am. As for Beth…” He paused and gave the woman a slight smirk. “She told you that did she? Marker’s breath I knew letting the two of you talk for any length of time would be bad for me. Though I knew you would like her too. We’ve been friends for a long time, I couldn’t let her just go off on her own without at least trying to keep an eye on her. Isn’t that what friends are for?” There was a quiet bark of laughter from the Templar though before he added. “And I made an excellent Black Fox I’ll have you know. Even if its Wolf I get called most often now.”
