Opening the door to their assigned room wide the Karashok held it there so that his mage may enter first. Watching him go in he looked around first before following him, ducking low and closing the door behind him.
Eyes adjusting to the dimness quickly, the Karashok took stock of the new surroundings. The ceiling was lower than anything he was used to, mere inches above his head. It was a wide room, the floor covered in furs and the walls with simple tapestries meant to ward off the chill of the stone. In the corners sat two beds, it was doubtful either would accommodate one of the Karashok’s considerable size but it appeared as if the mage should fit snuggly in to one. Against one wall lay a rickety table with two small chairs. They did not look very sturdy but they would have to do for now.
Relatively pleased with the room, both its set-up and location, the Karashok let himself relax. While still alert he was finally in a secure location, away from the staring people and the whispers that filled his ears day in and day out. Breathing a sigh of relief he headed towards the small table.
Glancing over at his mage who was standing in the center of the room, looking uncomfortable, he gestured over to one of the small chairs set up against the wall. There were things they needed to talk about and there was no point in standing to do so. Placing the small basket he was holding on the table he slowly eased himself into his seat.
They had just come from the kitchens and had been generously granted a basket full of the mystical pastries they had heard about. Prying open the lid he waved his hand over it, allowing the mage to choose first. Waiting a moment he grabbed his own piece of the bread-like substance and settled in. Biting down he savored every bite, this pastry was far better than he could have imagined.
Resisting the urge to grab another he merely waited for his mage to finish his own treat. When Hissra was done the Karashok cleared his throat. Head canted to the side her narrowed his eyes and stared at the other. “There are a great many things we must discuss. Are you prepared to exchange questions or do you require rest?”
