"They're usually brown birds, with a longer wingspan than the owl we just saw. They're beautiful too... but... smaller heads, sharper beak... Slimmer looking body." She laughed softly at his eagerness to lure in the owl. "I doubt that would work. They hunt live prey. So unless you have a mouse about..." she shrugged slightly. "I bet they have drawings of them in the books at Amaranthine."
She fell silent a moment, considering what he said about the elves, the poetry of their story. Perhaps it was somewhat of a romantic tale, not in the nature of a love or anything like that, but in the proud people, battered down at the hands of others and fighting to cling to their culture. "Perhaps you will meet some. They probably have servants at the Keep... and maybe there are other elven recruits there as well." She laughed. "I guess they tend to be more... feminine looking than humans in general... more delicate. They're smaller of course. I'm not sure you could look at one example of any race and claim they are entirely representative. It is true in some places that elves are more commonly seen as whores than humans because they are considered more attractive."
At the rustling behind them and the first scuffing steps of boots on dirt Imenry turned her head, her eyes casting briefly into the sky. She smiled, looking down at Rhocanth. "It seems at least that our turn on watch has passed. Apparently the hours slip by easily when you're in good company." She pushed herself to her feet, dusting off her pants before leaning down to reach for her claymore and sling it over her shoulder. She offered a hand to Rho, a grin flickering across her lips.
"I wouldn't mind sharing watch duty with you again some time. Sleep well, Rhocanth." She made her way back towards the camp, nodding at those who had woken to relieve them before slipping silently back into the tent she'd been sharing with Signy. Before dropping the flap closed again she tossed a wave back in the young dwarf's direction, then disappeared behind the flap of white canvas.
