Not murdered, but perhaps wishing he had been by now, Rhocanth put the finishing touches on his bedraggled appearance by gliding his fingers through his hair. Not that it helped a lot, being a little unruly on its own, but he finally appeared as the composed young man he preferred to present himself as. Miss Bethen had been very patient while he endured such a trial as that dastardly tree, and he thanked her with a bright, grateful smile. He really would not have liked it so much if she had tried to catch him, though he didn't likely weigh nearly enough to do her any harm, being no more than one hundred pounds or so.
"Thank you, very kindly," he said, unable to contain a small laugh. "Though I think I am all the more gladdened that she didn't see it." He reached forward to accept his leaves back, giving the stem a small shake and then holding them up to the light. They were rather nice leaves, weren't they? Nothing was so brilliantly green in Orzammar. Maybe the sedate green of malachite and lichen, or the soft glow of emeralds, but this was in a league of its own. A delight to the senses. Curiously, he lifted the bundle to his nose and sniffed them. The smell was sweet, a little watery perhaps. As Bethen described her experience with trees, Rho just smiled at her from behind them, enjoying their smooth texture. He though he preferred flowers, himself, but these were rather nice. They needed something, though. He couldn't just hand them over on the branch. Perhaps a ribbon?
At Beth's next question, Rhocanth nodded lightly. "It's for my friend, Falina. Perhaps you've seen her around? She's a dwarf as I am, and there aren't many other dwarves, as I have noticed. She's the girl with long, dark hair, and is often accompanied by the large man and the hound." Giving the leaves another observational shake, he added while he watched them tremble, "It's her birthday, you see. I thought it was very sad that she had a birthday at such a dire time, so I hoped to brighten it by getting her something nice. You seem to know quite a bit about flora, Miss Bethen. Do you know of anything I could do to make these presentable?"
He pulled his eyes from the leaves, fixing Bethen with an earnest look.
