Ordhan nodded at her explanation. It made sense. Conlan's sense of humor could be bizzare; he had learned to take nearly everything the warrior said with a grain of salt, figuring it made sense to someone, and that sooner or later the real explanation would come out. He smiled his reassurance that he was not offended, despite the surprise it had come as. The mage was poised and ladylike, and he had not expected her to make use of Conlan's sense of humor. How often had she spent time with him?
Ordhan smiled at Imenry's greeting. She had quickly earned his respect, both with the prowess she had shown in their duel and the patient concern she had shared with him over Constans. The news that the young man had been at the sparring grounds that day was welcome. "I am glad to hear it," he replied. "I would not want him to leave unprepared."
Ordhan allowed the mage to introduce herself. "I have offered to teach Enchanter Keigwin the basic use of a sword," he explained when she had finished. "There won't be much time for advancement, but even a little can be useful."
