Thais continued to smile at the man. She nodded lightly as Ordhan motioned towards the sparring grounds. Clasping her hands together, she followed the man (once he got going) with no hesitation. She thought about the sparring grounds vaguely and it occurred that other people may be there. Perhaps that difficult man, Conlan, was training, or maybe Constans was training like he apparently had been.
In the back of her mind, she rather liked the idea of being able to use a sword like the men she knew. She thought about the templars and how agitated some would be that she would be able to wield a blade. The woman wouldn’t have to rely on her magic alone anymore. The thought invigorated her. Her pace quickened a little so that she was walking beside Ordhan instead of a couple steps behind him.
“Are the sparring grounds out in the open?” She queried in a curious tone. Thais wondered if her training would be watched or not. She had mixed feelings on rather she preferred to train in ‘secret’ or out in the open, but she was use to making mistakes during training in open areas. The woman thought back to the Circle tower and the time when she had accidentally caused a whole group of apprentices to hallucinate while practicing her spells. She hadn’t known they were there, she was simply directing her spells towards a target. It just happened that the target was in front of a bookshelf and the apprentices were on the other side. The spell had been too strong, seeking out actual humans instead of wooden targets.
She assumed nothing embarrassing like that would be happening with a training sword. Thais softly chuckled at the memory though, before looking back at Ordhan, “That woman, the warden that had greeted us on arrival, she uses a sword… Do all mages of the Wardens learn to use swords?”
