Imenry glanced between the Enchanter and Ser Ordhan. The woman was polite and didn't elaborate much on what she had to say. Perhaps she was rather eager to begin her training. And Ordhan himself seemed to spend most of his time thinking and very little of it speaking. It was an admirable trait to have, but it wasn't necessarily ideal for instruction. She quirked a brow at his question. If the sword was too heavy for the Enchanter, even with two hands, then she would be in trouble. There was nothing lighter offered on the rack here. Hopefully they wouldn't have to go to the smith and inquire about a child's sized one or something.
"If two hands seems more comfortable for you, you should definitely start off like that. In time when you build some arm strength you may be able to switch to one handed, which would give you the option of a second weapon, or a shield like Ser Ordhan has," she said, motioning to the Knight. She thought either one could be useful, but it would depend on how well the Enchanter took to using a single weapon.
She looked expectantly to Ordhan then, after all, this woman was his student. He was spare with his words though, so she decided it couldn't hurt with a nudge. "Perhaps you should start with one of the training dummies," she motioned to the row of wooden and straw men. "Ordhan can teach you some basic attacks first. If you do well enough with that then you could try some defensive moves against one of us, as a live opponent is definitely more of a challenge."
She couldn't help recalling the time the two of them had trained with Constans, who ended up having more skill with a sword than they would have expected. It seemed that as a boy he'd at least learned the basics. He claimed to have continued practicing occasionally as well. She truly hoped that they had helped them. It did not seem that they would have much time to spend in Amaranthine.
