Falina was late for their shift on watch. Not that she was going to begrudge the girl, after all Imenry remembered what it was like to be fifteen. And suddenly to have her whole world change and new responsibilities. It must be a lot for the dwarf to take in. Imenry shifted from her position perched on a rock near the only unsecured area of the camp. It was a worn path through the woods to the little clearing, big enough for all the horses and the wagons to come through earlier. On all other sides the camp was surrounded by trees, bordered to the south by a fairly wide and rapid river. It was a good place to bunk down for the night, provided everyone took shifts in pairs to watch the trail. Obviously someone in the area had been using it recently and they had no idea just what types of characters those might be.
Sighing she pushed herself to her feet, standing up on the somewhat flat surface of the rock. She glanced over her shoulder, looking back at the others gathered by the fire. There were a lot of them in the one camp, and the murmur of voices seemed constant when they weren't all tucked into their tents or bedrolls at night. Still, the company was good for the most part. She had grown protective of Signy over the short time they had been companions, and Falina and Rhocanth as well. They were all so wide-eyed about many things, and they needed guidance. Not that she was the best person to offer guidance in all things, but she knew about survival, and she knew how to keep safe from many of the dangers out there.
Turning she hopped down from the rock, landing in the dirt with a faint scuff and glanced around for the dwarf who was supposed to be here about ten minutes ago. Sure, Falina was a child yet, but she was late for their shift and Imenry was beginning to wonder if she'd be watching over camp alone tonight.
