Lalin had been watching the newcomers for a while. She had yet to actually get up and talk to one of them, but watching them all move in and settle down was keeping her entertained for the moment. There so many different types of people, elves and humans and dwarves. Lalin had never seen a dwarf outside of the Denerim market. One or two kept stalls, but she had never interacted with them before. Dalish too, if their facial tattoos were anything to go by. An old hope perked up. Maybe she could ask if-. Lalin cut that thought off. Nope. She had let her mother go a long time ago. She refused to go searching for a woman who wanted nothing to do with her. Assuming she was still alive, of course.
But still, these Dalish. Lalin couldn't help but wonder. Half of the stories she had heard about them were horror stories to keep children from trying to flee into the woods and the older half were about how they took in stray elves. She decided she was going to half to ask one of them sooner or later which of the roomers were true, if any. Maybe the one about strange rituals, naked in the moonlight? Lalin grinned to herself.
She kicked her feet a little bit. She was perched on a wall over looking the training grounds, watching some dark clouds roll in. It was threatening to the rain, but she was finding that she loved the smell out here. It wasn't as congested as it was in Denerim. When it rained in Denerim, it just got muddy and messy. Not exactly a time you wanted to be outside. She would probably have to go inside soon. While warmer than it had been in the past few weeks, it was still spring and the cold water of a spring shower would soak her through to the bone. Not exactly a fun time.
Lalin took one more deep breath of the clean smell of the incoming rain and hopped down from the wall.
